After 2014 LEJOG (Lands End to John O’Groats) success, we have decided to embark on another cycling adventure…… This time branching outside the United Kingdom; the plan is to cycle from Prague to back home in Northumberland. Sounds simple enough.
When deciding on a route for our 2015 cycling tour, it was a case of:
- We only have 1 week this year to spare
- Why don’t we get the ferry to Holland?
- I wonder how far we can get on an overnight train from Amsterdam?
- Google maps distance from Prague to Amsterdam …. 600 ‘ish’ miles
- Lets do it!
The plan for the journey is as follows:
- Cycle from Home to the ferry at North Shields
- Overnight ferry to Holland
- Cycle from the port (Ijmuiden) to Amsterdam
- Overnight train to Prague
- Pedal back through Czech Republic, Germany and Holland
sounds like a great adventure! have a good journey – looking forward to hearing all about it- best wishes for fair weather and sunshine on your backs!
